Challenge Accepted.

So excited to read all of these pages!!
I hereby declare this book my summer challenge.
The other day at Chapters I came across a real gem! I found the entire works of the Bronte sisters in a massive, and might I add quite magnificent, book. This beauty also happened to be on sale...for $10.00. Crazy, right? Now I know what I'm going to be doing this summer...
In between my crazy job and my messed up summer sleeping patterns I am going to attempt to read the whole ENTIRE works. I've already read Wuthering Heights and Jane Eyre, as my more avid readers know ;), but for the sake of comparing the stories I am going to take this challenge to another height and re-read those two novels as well.
I've been searching for a book to read that I don't know the ending to, which I have found! I know the two novels I already mentioned (obviously) and I've seen the movie for Tenant of Wildefell Hall, but the other four novels I have no idea as to what the plot is...so, as you can tell, this is quite exciting.
900 pages of this...

A Post That's Not Really Worthy of a Title

I mentioned I was going to Arizona, and I am here now, staying at my grandparents' house on a Navajo reserve. I've only been here for a couple hours, but the difference between the quality of life here and the world back home is overwhelmingly obvious. It really opens my eyes to how lucky I am to live the way I do.
I kind of like road trips... they give me a lot of time to think and  to listen to my music. I like that :) . The scenery is really pretty too, I can just look out the car window and imagine Wile E. Coyote chasing road runner around the mesas.
I will probably talk more about Arizona later, you know, once I've been here longer :P .
BTW For the most part, I have been listening to City and Colour on the way down here. Especially the song The Girl. It's so good.... i've been humming it all day....makes me all happy :)

Busy doing fun things :)

My most best friend & I setting up her grad reply :)
Wow, I can't believe I haven't already posted this year! Welcome 2012!
Over the past couple days I've realized how busy I can be if I try. I mean, this is good, right? I can make it so I don't have a chance to be bored; I want you to understand how incredible this is. I have so many projects that I need to do within the next few months that I can completely occupy my time, probably until the end of school.
The first things that I need to get done are my 10 hour projects for my Personal Progress program. For one of them I am doing indexing, which I only started a few weeks ago...and I think I'm hooked! It's so neat; just now I finished typing out some names from WWI drafting records. When I index I feel a strange connection to the people, like I'm slightly getting to know them, even though most of them died over 50 years ago.
After I'm finished my Personal Progress I am going to make another collage! I have a scrumptious idea for this next one, and I can't wait to get started on it!
Anyhow, I'm keeping busy so far this year, and 2012 is looking pretty bright. So, there's the little update on my life. I was going to start writing about my excitement for graduation...but, you'll hear enough of that within the next little while. ttfn :)

The Actual Factual Christmas Post

I know I posted already today, but, I--whatever. I'm not making an excuse.

Yeah, we watched Prep & Landing. Cute, but after two shorts it made me sick.

Alright so this Christmas I haven't really been surrounded by family at all, in fact, my oldest sister and her hubby actually went away, so instead of having more people, we have less. I haven't really been feeling all that well, so eating all of that candy and chocolate I want is hard...

So, this is my Christmas in a nutshell:
Christmas Eve:
1. Ate a taco
2. Sang a carol or two
3. Recieved new snuggly pajamas that are as soft as cotton candy
4. Finsihed making/wrapping Christmas presents
5. Went to bed; couldn't sleep
6. Watched a few episodes of Gilmore Girls
7. Got to sleep at about 2-3 am
Christmas Day (today):
1. Woken up at 6 am
2. Waited
3. Went upstairs and opened some gifts
4. Went to sleep
5. Woke up
6. Ate breakfast
7. Went to sleep for a couple hours
8.Woke up
9.Got ready for church
10. Went to church
11. Came home
12. Ate dinner
13. Did dishes
14. Watched Gilmore Girls
15. Gilmore Girls
16. Blog post
17. Gilmore Girls
And that has been my Christmas 2011. Needless to say, I am almost finished the first season of Gilmore Girls, and am in need of the next season. I will buy that tomorrow. Isn't it strange how when you watch a TV show a lot you feel like that's your life? You feel more like the characters, or relate people to the characters? Things in your daily life seem to have connections with the show? Yeah... anyways, Christmas... want to know what I got?
-towels
-a crock pot
-Pride and Prejudice A&E dvd set (Yay! :) )
-a book
- a framed picture of Kimmy and I :)
-a blanket from myself
-an angel ornament thing
-make up brushes
-eye shadows
and the best one ever:

My family got JUST DANCE 3 from Cammie, Keith, and Baby Peanut! :)

Winter and its Wonders

The air is growing colder, there's snow on the ground and the days are becoming darker...what does this mean? It means...winter! There are certain things about winter that are awful, like the cold, and the ice. Yet, winter has it's perks: Christmas is an obvious one, sledding, Michael Buble's new Christmas CD, hot chocolate, egg nog, and winter wardrobes!

I love living here, especially because of the variety in seasons. I couldn't live some place where it's hot all year round. It is too much fun changing up my outfits as the weather changes. Winter is wonderful because I can wear nice warm pea coats, mittens, and big cozy scarfs. I can plug in the carols and decorate the tree and ahhhhh..... winter is wonderful.... until Christmas is over, then it just kind of sucks.

Anyways... I have a somewhat important announcement for any of you out there who actually care about my life... I got accepted at the U of L today, and I am officially attending there next fall. I also scored a free toque and water bottle! (That made my day)

Incredible Excitement!!

Last night Kimmy and I had a girls' night! As much as we love the guys, I think we both needed this. I don't think the past couple weeks have gone that great for either of us, and we both were in need of some cheering up. It was a blast, and I must say, boosted my spirits immensley!
Of course, we chatted for an hour or so, letting out any sad feelings so we could move on to the happy! Then, Just Dance 2. We have definitely improved on our dancing powers (I say "powers" because we are indeed, that good!) since last time, and we were workin' it so hard we had to strip down to our tank-tops. We've always wanted to get the guys to play it with us, but they absolutely refuse to (which is understandable), but then Kim and I decided it's probably best that way, because we certainly can't "move it" (or strip down :P) the same way with them watching.
In Kim's wonderful words, "Sexy."
After our JD2 session, and five hundred glasses of water, we decided to watch a chick flick! So, we settled with What a Girl Wants, because, let's face it, no man can be as sexy as Colin Firth, nor as smoking hot as Oliver James.

Obviously smoking hot

Then, we had a raw ichiban/cereal break! Which, brings me to some very exciting news! (I've pretty much been waiting to say this since I started typing!!) Kim and I have planned a small road trip to the BIG city! It's going to be a blast, and we'll be heading out in 19 days!!!!! We will be staying at my darling Cammie's house for 2 nights! We are being set up with some dates the night we arrive, and then the next day will be spent shopping!!!
I am ecstatic!

Summer Summary

I must say that this, the summer of 2011, has been the best summer of  my life so far. Maybe that's due to the fact that it is the most recent, and therefore the one I can remember the best. Yet, I think it's because this whole year has been the best ever. Sixteen was so fun, and I am unsure whether my seventeenth year can top it!
For the most of the summer I didn't even leave town. I worked every single morning (except weekends, of course :P)  besides the one week I took off to go camping (which was the only time I actually left town and stayed somewhere else this summer), and the week I had my wisdom teeth removed.

The highlights of my summer:
  • New Phone!
  • Playing with my friends :)
  • The town celebrations
  • Getting my wisdom teeth cut out (maybe not my favorite part, but exciting nonetheless)
  • My birthday
I know that a few of the above happen every summer, but they were absolutely even more spectacular this year by a long shot. I'm sad that it's over... it really was an amazing summer.

Here We Go....

Today I have compiled my summer reading list. Hopefully I will be able to stick to it (I always have a whole bunch of novels lined up in my head to read, but then I find another book, and I have to read that before anything else, and then the books I was planning on reading remain untouched). So here it is:
1. North & South by Elizabeth Gaskell
2.Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen
3.The Life of Charlotte Bronte by Elziabeth Gaskell
4. The Tenant of Wildfell Hall By Anne Bronte

I did my best to make it short, so then I can add on to it later. That isn't completely unreasonable, is it? It is going to take enormous amounts of effort not to go back to some of my favorites from earlier this year, like Charlotte Bronte's Jane Eyre, and Shannon Hale's Austenland. Wish me luck in my endeavors!
Other then working and reading novels, I plan to spend my summer stretching and working out for cheerleading! Hopefully I can stick to that idea...
Have a fantastic summer :)

Good golly! It's SUMMER.

Maybe it's the roasted mallows on a nice sunny day, or maybe its just having no school, and spending massive amount of time with friends. Whatever it is, summer is always the time of the year that folks look forward to. Tomorrow is my last official day of school for this year. It's a scary thought, but I am soo excited to get everything over with! One more exam, and I am done!  I just love my friends SO much, they are the best pals in the world.  Today, even though we were supposed to be studying chemistry, we ended up cooking marshmallows on spaghetti over a mini bon-fire in a candle. These are the good times :)
Hooray for summer!

Spring has SPRUNG! (Finally!)

The season of Spring is acknowledged as the season of love, is it not? Well...birds find love in the springtime, so do frogs, and fishies, and perhaps even spiders. I would say cats, but I think they just find it all year round.
I very much love springtime! I was "nature-walking" with my friends today, and I just realized how much I loooove this fantastic weather, the wonderful outdoors, and my spectacular friends! There is just something about being outside when the trees and flowers are starting to come back to life, and bunches of Canadian Geese flying around you. Just watching the water flow, feeling the fresh air on my skin, and a breeze slightly blowing through my hair! This means it is almost Summmmer and perhaps that is why I love Spring so much!! -Because the world slowly turns itself into a beautiful, adventurous, school-free, flower-filled, bee-buzzing Summer!  I'm so happy right now. Thankyou weather for being so nice, and thankyou trees for being so beautiful!  I have the Spring song from Seven Brides for Seven Brothers stuck in my head....I think it describes my mood almost perfectly!

160 minute Lockdown. Oh yeah.

It is Monday morning, don't really wanna be at school anyways, just finished Chem and now I am heading to English. I get into class, we pick partners and re-read the fourth act of  Macbeth, as we are doing this, about twenty minutes into the class, an announcement comes onto the speakers.

Usually when there is an announcment it is a soft, little, cute "beep, beep" and then the secratary tells us whatever. But, this announcement made us jump, because instead of the soft, little, cute "beep, beep" it was a loud, blaring, frightening, "Braaaang!!! Raannng!" and then came the secratary's voice, which was kind of hard to understand, and she said real intensely, "We are in lockdown mode, we are in lockdown mode!" Wow, "that's freaky, but its just a drill, hmmm....they changed the little alarm bell," was what I thought, and what pretty much everyone else in class thought. So, alright, just a drill, lets all go into the corner where we cant be seen through the door's window, and lets lock the door, turn off the lights, and close the blinds.

We are sitting there, the teacher says, "Everybody try and be quiet! Last drill my class was to noisy and the RCMP officer got mad at us." The corner was pretty crammed, and I was very uncomfortable! it was about 15 minutes, and my teacher said, "The drill should be over now, they told us there was gonna be one this week, but they didn't say it'd be this long." So she grabbed her laptop to see if the teachers got an email.  Then the soft, little, cute, "beep, beep" came on and a man said, "This is Constable ------- from the RCMP, this is not a drill, I repeat, this is not a drill!" wow. Everybody kind of looked at eachother. "This is kinda scary....."

Now that we know how this feels.....

Well, the teacher tried to make it sound like it wasn't that big of a deal, but yet again, there was a shooting a couple years ago at a close-by school........hmmm. Scary. And she also told us this was the first legit lockdown the school had ever had. On top of all of this, I started thinking of Jurassic Park, you know, that scene where the veloci raptors are opening the door, and one has its eye pressed against the door window and you can see it breathing? Ya. My teacher said she would take a bullet for us, but not a dinosaur attack.

So we stayed cramped up in the corner, and some people had to pee- including me, we were all getting hungry, and some of the class wrote notes to their loved ones on the white boards (don't worry, it was mostly for fun) .
not very satisfying
The bell rang- it was lunchtime, we were all there in the corner still, we had been there for 45 minutes.  the teacher went over to her desk and got out Fibre 1 bars, some Hershey's Dark Chocolate and Werthers. We shared them all, and then she put the movie The Awakenings on on her laptop really quietly. I didn't really pay any attention to the movie, I was kind of napping.

We had been in the little corner for about 2 hours now, and let me tell ya- it was BORING, but kind of exciting! Then there was footsteps in the hallway and a knock on the door. It startled me, and I think it startled everyone else. The teacher went over to the door, and kind of peered through the window. A man said, "This is Officer------, here to let the kids have a bathroom break." She didn't open the door, and he slid his I.D. underneath the door. Then she let him in, and the RCMP told us to jog to the bathroom and back. So we did. It was kind of nerve racking. There were a couple police men in the hallway.

Even though we weren't supposed to be texting, some were, and apparently they got info that there were police all over town and that there was a bunch of unmarked cars in front of the school, and the police wouldn't let anyone go by the school. NOW that's just great!! We've been trapped in here for 2 hours and we haven't a clue what the heck is going on! It could be anything, and whatever it was it wasn't good!

We were in the classroom for a little while after the break, and then there was the soft, little, cute, "beep, beep" and a voice following, "The lockdown is now over---blah, blah, blah"  We then were allowed a half- hour break.

I know how crazy this must sound, but it was kind of a neat experience. I saw a newsreporter as I left talking to some kids, (at least I assumed she was, since she had on a black coat and was holding a yellow note pad), and I also heard a police officer say to some girls that "the dogs caught them" but other then that, what really happened hasn't been confirmed, and doesn't really matter now anyways. The just of it was, we were in a lockdown for 160 minutes not knowing what the heck was going on. It was queer, and kind of exciting.

RANT Rant rant

I just feel like ranting out right now! Reading week, no school all week right? You instantly think "party!" but for this run it doesn't seem to be the case. Tomorrow is Friday and the week is practically over. So here is what I did this week, Monday- Cleaned. Tuesday- Taught little girls how to stunt and then cheerlead all the rest of the day, Wednesday- Eye doctors, Hair appointment, BOREDOM Boredom boredom . Thursday- Cheer practise, pulled a muscle, nothing else all day but DISSAPOINTMENT Dissapointment dissapointment and BORDOM Boredom boredom. And tomorrow, I have to cheer all day too. What a lovely holiday! If only every week was like this one!

Final Exams... you know it .

TOMORROW IS MY LAST EXAM THIS SEMESTER! Even though this term is often overused; YAY! I am so excited. Bio 20, definitely the hardest to study for, and the longest! Thankfully I only have a unit left to study and then review some stuff and then I am complete! YES! then the rest of the week= party.

And yes; I am aware that this post was completely pointless! But I thought you'd want to feel a bit of my excitement......I was right, wasn't I? Don't you just feel better now?

Candy Canes and Guts

This week has been a doozy! There are only 9 days till the best day of the year, and let me tell you: I'm pretty excited!!! So what has been happening in my life? At least school-wise? Well lets just say I have been waiting for this school day to be done this entire week! What do I mean? I mean studying Biology! It is awful! But let me tell you, if you are having problems with knowing what is happening to the food you eat, I am now an expert! Oh ya, and if you want to see whats happening inside of you, I did in fact dissect a pig fetus and I could certainly point out whats goin on in all of that gunk!  Lets just say studying the digestive and respiratory systems has paid off! Why? Because I am now finished my test! Yes! Now holidays can officially begin, right now! And as I am eating all that turkey, pie, and candy I can think of what is happening to all of that food!! (Because I really wanted to know all that!)
The holiday is started for me already, I still have school tomorrow but it will include zero work! I get to watch Elf first period, and Spongebob's Christmas Special 2nd period, and then there is an assembly with free hot dogs and oranges and perhaps donuts, and then after all that the Superintendent called the school telling the teachers to let us out of school at noon! Woohoo! Tomorrow will be a blast!

My Latest

The past week has been a really good one for me, it was a week that I read a good book! Everyone has had those weeks! And if you haven't, try it out! It is really satisfying! For the first time I watched Jane Eyre (BBC 2006) and I couldn't help but watch it twice in a row, it was so good! (If you couldn't tell that was my latest favortie! :P ) . Since I enjoyed it so much, I thought I might like the book too, (By Charlotee Bronte)  but it is a long one! And I was hestitant because I didn't think that Mr. Rochester would be half so charming in the novel, nor the story half so entertaining! I absolutley loved the book! It was easy for me to get into, and it usually took up the majority of my day! The movie I had watched followed the book so well! And I was completely happy with all of the characters and the whole book!! :) It makes me happy. And yesterday I watched Elizabeth Gaskell's North and South! I love it soo much!

I got voted off..... :(

Alright, so I got kicked off Survivor! Oh dang! I believe the tribe needed me, I wasn't the weak link like whats-his-bucket said! I am pretty strong for being so small. I deserve that million dollar check!!!! Well good luck to my tribe without me!
For Halloween my friend and I were Survivor losers.... it is pretty sweet. It was easy and fun! I made my hair wavy with my chi and then messed it up and hairsrpayed it to death and put some braids here and there. I think it looks like I haven't showered in 30 days...

ANNOUNCEMENTS!!!

Every week the weekly quote has changed (wow, who'd of guessed?), but I still want to keep the previous quotes available to the public. SO now you can find most of my previous Weekly Quotes, up top underneath the banner if you click on the button Previous Weekly Quotes (again, who'd of ever thought of that?)  I guess this whole thing is pretty exciting!!!!

Alright, next announcement. I know that my recent posts have been relatively and pretty much boring, which is why I have stopped doing 3 posts a month, because it just made things complicated and made me stress to write some random things off the top of my head. So that whole "3 posts/month" thing is terminated. Who really counts anyways?

THIRD and FINAL announcement: I need more followers! Mainly for my own sanity, so I don't feel like I am just talking to myself!!! If you are following, thankyou so much! Please invite others to follow! If not, every single person is greatly appreciated and I would love it if you followed my blog!

New Title.....I know!

SO I did change the title of my blog today. It was "COOK me a Story" but I changed it to "THINK me a Story" due to confusion. First of all, COOK me a story made this blog sound like some cook book..... as my darling sister pointed out to me... and since this doesn't have that much to do with cooking, I changed it! :) .
