Exceptionordinarily

It's Wednesday morning, I go up to my parents room, and holy Hannah! They've got a new snazzy looking TV on the dresser. The wheels started to turn in my head, and I went down a flight of stairs to the bonus room, and there sitting before my eyes was the old TV that was replaced with the fancy schmancy new one.

Well, I assumed the new flatscreen was an anniversary present my parents decide to give to themselves, and that they would no longer be needing this big old thing. I started to think, "Since my older sister has her own TV [which had been replaced years ago with the one sitting before me] and I'm the next oldest at home..........this must belong to me!"

So, without really asking my parents, I settled within myself that this giant mass was free for me to have. Yet, living with a large family it usually goes like this: All of the children have their hungry little eyes set on the lovely carcass before them, but are all mischievously planning on how to take it to their own rooms and keep it for themselves without anybody noticing. One will attempt it; one will succeed. Then, the other children who had their hearts set on the goods, try and take it back for themselves, and on and on and on.......! I knew that this would be the situation in a matter of days, or perhaps even hours.

I coolly told my younger siblings not to try anything, because it was obvious that the old TV was in my possession now. Of course they put up a fuss! Yet, when they went to whine about it to my parents, my mom only said, "Why shouldn't she have it?" So, now I have a TV in my room!

There was a problem still; what was the point of a TV without a DVD player? I wasn't sure whether we had an old one kicking around or not, so I just went and asked my dad.

I asked, "Do you have a DVD player I could use?"

He said, "Maybe, what color would you want it?"

"Well," I thought, "If I have the option, I'll go with pink!" So I told him, "Pink."

He laughed and replied, "How did you know?"

     "Know what?"

And then he went into his closet and took out a new pink DVD player, and handed it to me.

"Well, in that case, can I have a sparkly purple DVD player instead?" But I guess the enchanted closet was out of magic DVD players for the day.

The next day of the week, I came down to my room and my door handle was different. "Yes! My room now has a lock on the door!!!" I thought gleefully to myself. My dad gave me a key to my room, which I was happy to put it on my never-been used keychain next to my bicycle lock's key. I felt so privileged!

When I was younger, I always wanted little things like TVs and locks on my door, and in a timespan of one week, all of these dreams from long ago came true! I felt almost grown-up, but on a smaller scale. Adults have keys to their own houses, and keys to their own cars on keychains. I had a key to my own room and a key to my own bicycle on my keychain! Overall I feel very happy inside! :)

A little Ginger and a smidge of Jimmy

I just love these movies so much....this one especially...I would make another "List of the Best." For classic movies like i did for my favorite period dramas, but I have WAY to many favorites in this area so that will not be possible.

On How To Be Lovely

Love this song! Funny Face is one of the only movies that has Audrey Hepburns actual singing voice. This and "Think Pink" are my favorites from this movie.

Oh Captain Wentworth!!!!

Do you know what is extremely annoying but perhaps even more amazing?? When I have dreams about guys (usually fictional characters or moviestars)!!! Since I know that not very many people follow this blog, and not really any men, I can safely say (I hope!) that I love kissing dreams, and romantic dreams, because it makes me get the butterflies for days, and then I instantly think that that man (whoever he may be) is extremely more gorgeous and attractive then he was before I had the dream. Don't think I am completely lame, because guess what, I know I am too young for that sort of thing! And its not really happening, its just amazing dreams!!! (Though I admit sometimes I do wish they were real!!)
Anyways, so the past week I read Jane Austen's Persuasion and loved it! So I watched the new BBC adaptaion of it after I finished the book. I really do love that movie! (I grant you, the sister Mary acts like she is mentally ill and stupid) but other then that, I love it! So....... two nights ago I had a dream about Captain Frederick Wentworth (from the 2009 movie) and  we were completely in love, but we had been apart for so long! For some reason in most of my dreams I live in my Grandma A's house. (Perhaps that gives you an idea of the setting! ;) ) Anyways, I was down in the basement, and then Captain Harville and Captain Benwick came down and gave me a letter from Frederick (sincer I had a dream about him, I do believe we can be on a first name basis) He was waiting for me upstairs!!!! And so I went upstairs, and he proclaimed his love for me and asked me to marry him, ..... and then I asked my mom if I could and she said something like "Of course! It's alright that you are only sixteen because those kind of men only come around once in a lifetime!" ...  but of course my dream ended before the wedding, much to my dismay! :( . So if you notice my recent love for Freddy then now you will completely understand, and I will be blameless!!! :) haha. (and I know he isn't extremely extremely attractive otherwise, but honestly i think he is the most attractive man right now.....!)
Pretend that girl in the right-hand corner that doesn't
deserve him, isn't there! Just imagine me there instead!
